School is just about over, when I finish high school what am I going to do? Many students are faced with the question, “what field should I study” For some this is a big hurdle to over come. Perhaps the medical field could be something to look into. While it is a truth, that the medical field is wide open but the question still remains what field would best suite your interest?

Here are a few tips:

• Do not wait until you have graduated from High School to decide what you want to do for a career.
• The best course of action is to do some in-depth research on different specialty fields. Consider your natural ability, what is easy for you, is it math, computer, art, mechanics or some other field.
• Taking your personal likes and dislikes into account, choose a specialty field that interest you the most
• Check to see if that field of specialty is in demand.
• Check to see if it is recession proof, if the economy goes down will this specialty field still be in demand.
• Once you have decided on a field of specialty, research the need requirement and credential
• Last but not least find the best school for your specialty field

Consider what these professionals do, Adolescent Medicine Specialist specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions and diseases common to teenagers. Orthopedist diagnoses and treats patients with diseases of the muscles and bones. Cytotechnologist examines human cell samples under the microscope, looking for early signs of cancer and other diseases. A Medical Dosimetrist is a member of the oncology team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment. Art Therapist uses drawing, painting and other art processes to assess and treat clients with emotional cognitive, physical and or developmental needs and disorders.
